Most Jacksonville ductwork runs through the attic, which in a Florida summer is the hottest part of the house — easily 130 degrees up there. Every leak, gap, or disconnected joint in that ductwork dumps the air you just paid to cool into that oven, and pulls hot attic air back into the system. The result is the room at the end of the run that never gets cold, a system that runs constantly and still cannot keep up, and a power bill higher than it should be.
We pressure-check and inspect the duct system to find where it is actually leaking — at the plenum, the connections, the boots at each register — and seal it properly rather than slapping cloth tape on it that fails in the attic heat within a season. Where ductwork is crushed, undersized, or has come apart, we repair or replace that section so air flows the way the system was designed to move it.
When we will tell you it is not the ducts: uneven cooling sometimes comes from an undersized system, a refrigerant problem, or a return-air issue, not leaks. We diagnose before we sell duct work, because sealing perfect ducts on a system with a different problem fixes nothing.
